2006 is India-China Friendship Year and coinciding with this, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) - in cooperation with the Embassy of India in Beijing - is organizing the 4th "Made in India" Show from 8 - 11 September 2006 at the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing, China.  The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) has agreed to support the show

India and China are strategic partners with bilateral trade growing by leaps and bounds from US$ 265 mn in 1991 to US$ 18 bn in 2005-06 and we expect bilateral trade to cross 30 bn mark by 2010. Similarly there is a growing interest between business in India and China to look at various business opportunities for future growth. Some of the sectors of potential cooperation include agri machinery, automotive components, building material, tyres, cement, organic & inorganic chemicals, bio-technology, drugs & pharmaceuticals, electrical & electronics, energy / renewable energy, hospital & medical equipment, healthcare products, IT & ITES, leather, machine tools, equipment for gems industry, plastic machinery & products, iron & steel, mineral ores, textiles & textile machinery etc where companies have show great interest.

The made in India exhibition which is organised for the 4th consecutive year aims in forging strong partnership between Indian and Chinese business. The exhibition will show case some of best Indian technology, products and services and will be an ideal platform for Chinese businesses to discuss business opportunities and strategic partnerships with Indian companies.

Apart from the exhibition and seminars, a Fashion Show, Food Festival will also be organised to showcase a vibrant India.
