As the first visiting team to reply Chinese president Hu’s visiting, Bengal national chamber of commerce and industry (BNCCI) was invited to attend China-India Trade Conference at evening on Apr 25, 05, Shenzhen. The visiting team is made up of 10 persons totally, who are general-secretary D.P. Nag, president S. Nundy and some famous member entrepreneurs in local area. HBEDA general-secretary Liu Jianjun joined this conference.

The meeting spot lie in the new industry zone – Huanan City, around more than 200 participators come from domestic and overseas.

From the introduction of India speakers, we learn about: Indian holistic economy is lower than our average level excepting software and other few lines. So to Chinese domestic enterprises we have considerable potential, but Indian local policy and work efficiency have some issue. Now demands of Indian market are remarkable, such as electricity power, basic construction, environmental protection and equipments need. In India electricity energy is serious short and consumption of workers operation isn’t low. As we knew workers consumption of China and India is 1:2 on the same project equipments. India has abundant iron ore sourcing and pureness degree is more than 64%. But most of them haven’t been explored at present due to the limitation of machinery and fund, so importing the mine equipments is also paid attention by local government. On the part of custom, India is higher than other countries consumedly, so India government are prepare reducing custom rate to 15% in next two years. Chinese investment and trade will get protection of India investment committee and all related files will be finished within 90 days.

In India east area shoes manufacture and leather processing are most advanced, so these plants need to purchase a mass of leather materials. Furthermore they need plenty of materials about construction, resin, rubber and used machinery. BNCCI has 438 direct member enterprises in all and keystones are chemical and pharmacy, machinery, textile, food, printing, services and etc. Industries in BNCCI area aren’t uncultured, so local enterprises need technology, equipment and management of China largely.

Mr Nag and general-secretary Liu have a friendly short meeting at diner party. They simply to introduce self key lines and economy features and have initial cooperative ideas for service mutual members. Meantime two sides express that we should enhance trade info exchange and promote communication and cooperation between mutual members. Through communication and understanding we think we can explore in these fields together, e.g. electricity construction, machinery export and so on.
